20 Dutch oven camping recipes

1. Campfire Chili

Ingredients:
Ground beef, onions, garlic, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, beef broth.
Instructions:
Brown beef with onions and garlic. Add beans, tomatoes, spices, and broth. Simmer 45 minutes over coals.

2. Dutch Oven Cornbread

Ingredients:
Cornmeal mix, egg, milk, honey, butter.
Instructions:
Mix ingredients, pour into a greased Dutch oven. Bake with coals on top/bottom for 20–25 minutes.

3. Mountain Man Breakfast

Ingredients:
Eggs, hash browns, sausage, cheese, bell peppers.
Instructions:
Layer cooked sausage, hash browns, and veggies. Pour whisked eggs over top. Bake until set (25–30 mins).

4. Beef Stew

Ingredients:
Stew beef, potatoes, carrots, onion, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme.
Instructions:
Sear beef, add veggies and broth. Simmer 2 hours until tender.

5. Campfire Pizza Bread

Ingredients:
Pre-made pizza dough, marinara, mozzarella, pepperoni.
Instructions:
Press dough into Dutch oven, layer toppings. Bake 15–20 minutes with coals on top.

6. Dutch Oven Lasagna

Ingredients:
No-boil lasagna noodles, ground beef, marinara, ricotta, mozzarella.
Instructions:
Layer noodles, meat sauce, and cheese. Bake 45 minutes.

7. Peach Cobbler

Ingredients:
Canned peaches, sugar, cinnamon, boxed yellow cake mix, butter.
Instructions:
Layer peaches, sprinkle cake mix, dot with butter. Bake 30 minutes until golden.

8. Chicken and Dumplings

Ingredients:
Chicken thighs, carrots, celery, onion, biscuit dough, chicken broth.
Instructions:
Cook chicken and veggies in broth. Drop biscuit dough on top; simmer 20 minutes.

9. Garlic Herb Campfire Bread

Ingredients:
Pre-made bread dough, garlic butter, rosemary.
Instructions:
Shape dough into a round, brush with garlic butter, and bake 25–30 minutes.

10. Vegetarian Curry

Ingredients:
Chickpeas, coconut milk, curry paste, sweet potatoes, spinach.
Instructions:
Simmer veggies in coconut milk and curry paste for 30–40 minutes.

11. Pulled Pork

Ingredients:
Pork shoulder, BBQ rub, onions, apple cider vinegar, BBQ sauce.
Instructions:
Rub pork with spices, slow-cook with onions and vinegar for 4–5 hours. Shred and mix with sauce.

Instructions:

Instructions:
Layer veggies, drizzle oil, and bake 40 minutes.

Instructions:

Dutch Oven Camping Tips

  • Use charcoal briquettes for consistent heat (e.g., 12 coals on top, 8 on bottom for 350°F).
  • Grease the pot to prevent sticking.
  • Bring oven mitts and a lid lifter!
  • Let the oven cool before cleaning (use hot water and a scraper).
